OK. OK. OK. It's been nearly 2 weeks since I posted the last set of "daily" updates.

"Skip the chit-chat -- Let's see some pictures!" (Chit-chat continues below)

'Why did it take so long?' you ask.

Well, for one thing, we've all settled into a daily schedule that features fewer dramatic, "photo opportunity" moments. For another, nearly all those moments are better suited to video than still photography, but I never seem to have the camcorder handy (or time to digitize and edit video for the web). So, while "a picture says a thousand words", here's a written update.

The pups are getting bigger every day. The girls are around 1.9 Kilos (4.1 lbs) and the boys around 2.05 Kilos (4.5 lbs). That's 7 or 8 times their birth weight in a little over one month.

We've started giving them puppy kibble (softened in warm water and a little milk), but they haven't gotten excited about eating it yet. Windy still feeds them, but only briefly, 3 or 4 times each day, including a somewhat longer meal around 3 a.m. daily.

When they're not eating or sleeping, they like to wrestle with each other. Face biting, ear biting, leg biting and tail biting are also favorite activities. The pups are trying out new behaviors, such as stalking, pouncing, barking and growling (when imagined appropriate). Did I mention biting?

You may have noticed I didn't talk about 2 other frequent activities, peeing and pooping. After we migrated the pups into a roughly 12' x 15' area (covered with 2 pieces of linoleum), we put down some extra large bed liners (used by bed wetting incontinents) that the pups immediately adopted as their pee/poop area. Remember, these are *smart* doggies.

If you've every watched a tennis match, you've probably seen the eyes of the crowd move left and right as the ball flies. We're seeing the same thing when playing ball with Starbuck or Windy. The pups line up at the edge of the corral and follow the motion of the ball. They're obviously intrigued and they want to play, too! For now, they've just started jumping and chewing on teething toys. Did I mention biting? We'll all learn to fetch a little later.

We've gotten requests to see the 6-Pack's pedigree, so we posted it here. If you want your own copy, you'll need to set your printer to "Landscape" mode.

Send an e-mail to request information about
owning one of the pups or just to say "Hi".
